Legalisation: An Unfinished Chapter in Pinay Prostitution Tweet
In the Philippines, any kind of whoring is illegal. However, many girls force themselves to become hookers because of financial needs. They may be the eldest of a family of 14, or they may be the mother of three young kids. Whatever the reason, you can be sure that the lady you are humping is not sucking your dick because of pure fun.
I know this because of all the conversations that I had with Filipina (or “Pinay” in the local slang) prostitutes. Most of them say that they love the job. However, there are those who break down and tell the truth that they have no choice but to sell their bodies.

Many of these girls say that legalising prostitution would be a good idea because firstly, it would spare them from some of the shame that they are going through. These ladies also want a certain kind of lawful regulation for their jobs that would consider them as legal employees of the brothels and bars that they are working for. This would give them access to a higher salary, a better health care system, and basic benefits like insurance and pensions.
The legalisation of this trade would have both advantages and disadvantages for the customers like me. For one, I would be required to pay a higher amount to bed these Filipina women because of the taxes and other surcharges that would be brought on. However, I would personally choose to dish out more money if this means that I would have a partner who has regular medical check-ups and whose work is regulated by the government.
The fate of this legal move is still hanging in the air because even the Filipinos themselves are undecided. With luck, this debate may continue on into the future.
